If the room is available the day before, a client can opt to conduct a rehearsal, but this would be at an additional rental rate for the desired timeframe. The amount of rental time is purely up to the client and their needs. Our base minimal rental block is four hours, then hourly rates apply after the base. Rental hours must also fall within our operating hours of operation which is seven days a week from 7:30 am – 11:30 pm. Yes, we always have a staff representative available during all rentals.

We do offer flexible catering options. A client has the option to use their own caterer, all that is necessary is to provide a copy of their business license and Certificate of Liability Insurance naming St. Johns River State College as an additional insured on the date of the client’s event. Additionally, another option is for the client to use our list of recommended caterers, which we already have all the required documentation, making it easier for our clients.

We do have a list of recommended caterers who provide a wide range of services from snacks or light hors d’ oeuvres to themed dinners or award-winning barbecues. However, do not have recommended lists for DJs, photographers, or officiants.

All contracted reservation times must include any time needed for catering preparations, setup/decorations, as well as cleanup of the event space. The access for decorating/setup as well as any other activities associated with the rental is determined by the client through their contracted reservation times.

Our Conference Center staff must approve all decorations and display methods prior to an event setup. The use of tape or other affixing items that damage the walls or doors is prohibited. We do allow the use of removable 3M command strips or blue painters tape to hang decorations.

Our Conference Center is available for rent seven days a week and our rental hours are from 7:30 am to 11:30 pm depending on other scheduled events. The actual rental time of an event is determined by the client’s needs. All rentals include a 4-hour minimum base rate and then hourly rates as applicable to client’s needs.

Our Conference Center provides the perfect atmosphere and flexibility for your wedding and/or reception. The Conference Center has six banquet rooms that can provide space in whatever design a client envisions. Our grand banquet room offers a contemporary design, complete with beautiful chandeliers. For a wedding, our grand banquet room can accommodate up to 240 guests comfortably with enough room for dancing. Additionally, our other banquet space is the perfect setting for your wedding ceremony. We also have had several clients hold a wedding ceremony and reception in our grand banquet room. In summary, we can accommodate a wedding ceremony and reception in one room or a wedding ceremony in one banquet room followed by the reception in another banquet room.

At times, we do have concurrent events at the Thrasher-Horne Center. However, on these few occasions, we ensure the events do not interfere with each other’s activities through the use of separate entrances and hallways.

Our Conference Center rental fees are based on a 4-hour base minimal rate, then an hourly rate applies based on the client’s needs. The 4-hour base minimal rate is the same any day of the week, however, our additional hourly rates do increase on Saturdays, which is recognized as a peak day.

All our rooms include tables and chairs with a custom setup and furniture breakdown, ample free parking, independently controlled room lighting, and flexible catering options. We also have an event attendant present at all times to assist our clients.

• Open flames are prohibited. Enclosed votive, tea lights, floating candles and chafing dishes are acceptable. Pillar or taper flame must be enclosed by hurricane glass or other approved enclosures.
• The use of sparklers, fireworks, pyrotechnics or fog and smoke machines inside or outside of the Conference Center is strictly prohibited. Hazardous chemicals and materials are prohibited.
• Nothing can be affixed to or hung from the ceilings.
• Pins, tacks, nails or other puncturing devices are prohibited. Scotch, masking, duct tapes and glue are not allowed on any surface. All other adhesives must be approved.
• Glitter, confetti, sand, birdseed or any substance that causes litter or debris inside the facility or on the grounds is prohibited. Nothing must be thrown inside the building. Bubbles are permitted on the ground but not inside the THCC.
