“I’m going to do a big worldwide tour, and it’s going to be my last. And I’m going to say goodbye at that point.”
With those words, Kenny Rogers announced the end of an era for country music. In an interview with the Today Show last September, Rogers revealed to hosts Carson Daly and Savannah Guthrie that his upcoming worldwide tour would signal an end to his almost 60 year career in the music business – a career that includes more than 120 hit singles and 120 million records sold. At the age of 77, Rogers wants more time in his life to devote to his wife and twin sons.
The Thrasher-Horne has stepped in and set the stage for this monumental farewell tour, and will welcome Rogers and special guest Linda Davis to Northeast Florida for his final performance here on January 28th, 2017. If you’ve never seen him live – or if you’ve been front row for every one of his tours – this final tour will be a performance not to be missed, a career spanning anthology that you’ll remember for the rest of your life. Join us as we sing along to Roger’s greatest hits and fan favorites in the comfortable intimacy of the Thrasher-Horne, and enjoy this arena sized performer in an environment few get to experience.
