Some of the most interesting details of a stage production can sometimes only be seen by the people on stage. Here at the Thrasher-Horne, we try our best to give you an inside look at all aspects of our performances. We want you to see all angles of your favorite shows and artists… more than just the view from your seat. If we can get access to it, so should you! It’s with this mentality that we bring you a new regular feature on the blog – A CLOSER LOOK. This will be our opportunity to take you into the spotlights, through the stage door, and into every nook and cranny backstage to show you how your night of entertainment comes to be – from load-in to load-out.
Over the last few weeks, we were lucky enough to host the National Equity Touring Cast of Into The Woods while they built and assembled every aspect of their 2016-2017 Tour before sending it out into the world. We got to see firsthand what went into the monumental task of creating a multimillion dollar touring production from the ground up. Everything was laid bare on our mainstage, slowly growing throughout the month into the glowing spectacle we witnessed on opening night. One of the most incredible details of the set (which resembled the inside of an exploded piano) lay in the immaculate attention to detail provided by Scenic Designer Derek McLane. Check out some of our up close shots of the world he created, and take in a view seen by very few people… until now.
